Mini Crochet Octopus Earrings
The little crochet octopus was one of my first experiments with miniature crochet. I chose an octopus because it seemed easy – just a ball with legs. Surprisingly, these kawaii octopus earrings have become one of the most popular items in the shop. I had a few custom orders last week (hence the work in progress photos), and another two this week.
The octopi take relatively long to make, because each leg is crocheted separately and then sewn onto the body. It’s also kind of finicky to make them so small. I’m working on a way to make the legs as a single piece, which will cut down on the time and cost of these little earrings. I’ve been conducting experiments on the bigger octopi, that are included as free gifts with the earrings.
So, here are some cute free patterns for (normal sized) crochet octopus amigurumi:
And while I’m on the subject of octopi, here’s a funny video for an awesome game about an octopus:
Read all about her here —> http://amiamore.blogspot.com/2012/09/sweet-ellie.html#more
One of my little sisters is absolutely in love with pomeranians! And she has been begging me ages to make her one and since coming upon this great pattern by Roman Sock on the internet (you can find the pattern here) I always wanted to make one for her.
Unfortunately I can’t find the type of yarn Roman Sock mentions in her pattern and since mohair wool is SO expensive for a student like me, I’ve always put it off. But with her birthday coming up and finding the perfect shade of colour for a caramel pomeranian in John Lewis one day, I knew I had to make one.
So as mentioned, I think this ball of wool is so expensive-£8.25 for 25g and I had to buy two balls of wool because I alway had to buy a cream coloured wool as well! But it is very soft~
It is quite hard to crochet with because I am always used to using dk yarn for my amigurumi projects which is a lot easier to use!
I found the head pattern quite confusing so I remember making up my own pattern for the head though the rest of the pattern was fine but the body bit had me stuck for a while! lol
Anyway I don’t have a slicker brush like Roman Sock recommended so I just used a ordinary comb which worked out okay I guess. Not as fluffy as I would have liked but I still think he is very cute-what do you guys think?
I think his name is Missile-the little pomeranian from the DS game Ghost Trick!
He also has a little friend made from the cream mohair yarn which I would post about tomorrow! So stay tuned! :)

~Mareep!!! <3 <3 ~
Okay does your heart not positively melts when you see this little guy??
My one does!! I just think she is soooooooo cute!! So needless to say I am very pleased with how she turned out, I think she looks way better than my last attempt at mareep (actually it doesn’t look too bad in the photo, I think its just because I saw the real one a few days ago and i was shocked at how shabby and fluffed out old mareep looked..)
But yeah what does everyone think of this mareep? My little sister loved her when she saw my little surprise-do you guys love her as well?
